Gimson's Nyonya Ponteh is also another popular and savoury dish of the Peranakan community. It is a favourite non-spicy Peranakan dish that uses salted soybeans and pork to produce a sweet and savoury fusion of delicious measures. This slightly sweet, chili-free dish is a hit with kids.
The main ingredient are onion, black mushroom (optional), chicken (at times pork is used instead of chicken, hence it's called Babi Pongteh) and fermented bean sauce.
